Lea Clark in Dolce-Gabbana Spring-Summer 2017 dress

Dolce Gabbana Spring-Summer 2017 embroidered dress for Lea

I’ve showed Dolce Gabbana dress from Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection for Caroline recently. I can’t leave Lea without her own dress. I chose Dolce Gabbana dress from Spring-Summer 2017 collection for her.

Here is an original dress at the right. Unfortunately when DG updated their website with a new collection, they lose the pictures for the old one ๐Ÿ™ So I decided to upload their pictures as a source for my inspiration.

The dress close-up

This dress is not for everyday wear, it requires luxury around ๐Ÿ™‚ So Lea and me visited “some” luxury places to take pictures ๐Ÿ˜‰

I didn’t have pictures of the dress back so I decided to repeat the embroidery at the dress back too. Because the pattern of the dress the same as for the mice dress I thought that the dress has button closure at the back similar to the mice dress.

And here is my embroidery close up.

I hope that the dress looks very similar to the original.

  • This is a lovely copy of the original, and yes, very similar! Such a lot of hard work has gone into it, I suspect Lea is absolutely delighted to be seen out and about in it. I did a lot of applique once on a tee shirt for a Kidz n Cats doll, it took me ages but was not as detailed as this so I can only imagine how long it took you! A BIG WELL DONE!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Dear Sharon!

Thank you for your kind support! Yes, this hard work took a lot of time and my power, and Iโ€™m really proud of it.

Right now Lea has most wonderful dress Iโ€™ve ever made ๐Ÿ™‚ Sheโ€™s happy, for sure ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Wow, that is amazing. Such a beautiful dress and great work, very creative. Did you use the embroidery machine to sew the outline of the dress too? I have an embroidery machine but donโ€™t have the skill to design my own designs. Simply amazing, thank you for sharing all your hard work.

  • wow, that is a beautiful dress. You are very creative and this is such a great idea. I have a embroidery Machine but never have designs small enough and I donโ€™t have the skill or knowledge to design. Did you use your machine to dew the outline of the dress too? Just amazing! Thank you for sharing.

    • Thank you, Carmen!

Yes, I sewed the outline of the dress on a sewing machine.

I have some small embroidery designs like ship or ball in my embroidery machine but I donโ€™t know how I can use them for my dolls ๐Ÿ™‚ So I decided to learn digitizing. If I had time I would prefer courses. But I do not have it ๐Ÿ™ And I do not sew or embroider on every day basis. So I use help in a digitizing program for learning, read articles on a manufacturer website and sometimes search videos on Youtube. I know that my designs are not perfect, probably with mistakes, but I can use them anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

And here is a lot of hand work, couldnโ€™t even imagine how much I should ask for it ๐Ÿ˜†
